How to read it

The method is part of the product.

What it measures. Daily median asking prices from active eBay listings for a curated set of recognizable collectibles. It does not represent completed sales or what a particular item will sell for.

Why the base is 1,000. Each comparable category starts at 1,000 for the displayed window. Category moves are averaged equally, so a high-priced watch does not drown out cards or toys.

When a move is withheld. Missing prices or a changed number of priced items can make a basket total look like a market swing. Bluechip withholds the trend until enough categories have comparable daily coverage.
